Zurich develops Planet Hero App with adesso
Expanding their commitment to sustainability and supporting people in their own environmentally conscious actions was the goal our customer, Zurich Gruppe Deutschland, had in mind when developing the ‘Planet Hero’ app. Anyone who wants to live more sustainably can receive useful ideas every day from the app on how to become a ‘climate champion’ among their friends and family.
By doing this, the insurance provider is expanding its commitment to digital channels and relied on adesso for the app’s technical implementation.
With ZeroC to CO2-neutral real estate
urban energy, a company of the adesso Group, focuses on intelligent CO2 and energy management. With ZeroC, an intuitive software solution for real estate operators, every one of a property’s energy values can be recorded and visualised in real time. The routine CO2 balance reports it provides enable legal norms and standards to be complied with and transparency and trust with customers and employees to be created. urban energy is helping us reduce the future CO2 emissions of our offices by using ZeroC to visualise the locations of adesso SE.
Digital sustainability management at Open Grid Europe GmbH
With the help of the adesso "Interaction Room" method, we supported our customer Open Grid Europe (OGE) in the introduction of a digital and legally binding sustainability management system. This enabled the OGE team to better understand the interrelationships of ESG reporting, outline fields of action and identify suitable tools for solution-oriented measures.

adesso provides IT support for the German Sustainability Network and contributes its many years of experience gained in numerous IT projects in the insurance sector to make software more sustainable in the future.
Managing the energy supply of the future with the aid of a virtual power plant – the VideKIS research project
Small wind, solar and hydropower installations on their own cannot compete on the electricity market, nor can they perform system services such as keeping the voltage in the power grid stable. Primarily fossil fuels are used to deliver these services. In the VideKIS project, small decentralised installations are pooled together to form a virtual power plant, allowing them to be competitive with fossil fuels on the electricity market and in terms of system services. Artificial intelligence will manage and market the services in a central control system. In addition to adesso SE’s Line of Business Utilities, urban energy is also part of the research project.
