Rowohlt Verlag wanted to introduce a new company-wide IT system to support workflows and data management. As part of the system selection process, employees at the company needed to document the processes used within the company. A lack of appropriate in-house experience in this area led Rowohlt to task adesso with modelling the processes in BPMN and with providing training in conducting methodical interviews. adesso gradually prepared Rowohlt’s employees to be capable of documenting processes themselves. Following on from the training courses and interviews, the models that had been created were jointly analysed and optimised. Rowohlt’s employees were subsequently able to conduct interviews independently, under the supervision of adesso employees. In the final phase of the project, the company employees were able to document processes independently with no need for additional support. The adesso experts merely reviewed the process steps in the background and made corrections where necessary.
