Optimisation of all operational processes

The S. Fischer Verlag publishing house is based in Frankfurt am Main and is part of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group. It is one of Germany’s largest publishing companies.

Project

S. Fischer Verlag and its subsidiaries plan to introduce new product information and media asset management systems. The system needs to support and optimise operational processes (data, metadata, products) at the company. adesso was commissioned to map the processes in order to determine the requirements that needed to be included in the call for bids for the system. adesso’s experts chose BPMN 2.0 Level 1 as the modelling language for the project, as it is well-suited for communication both within the company and with external service providers. adesso trained several of the company’s employees to use BPMN and BizAgi Modeler so that the BPMN diagrams could be maintained internally.

Result

adesso delivered a detailed timetable and an action plan with suggestions on how to optimise the processes. The mapping of the processes gave the company a clear overview of its internal processes and made it possible to achieve quick wins.
